I Want to Love You Madly
Deep. Don't know if it is correctly attributed, although that attribution seems very appropriate.
Voice of Kishore Kumar and the music of Hridaynath Mangeshkar; beautiful words:
O Me! O Life!
O ME! O life!... of the questions of these recurring; Of the endless trains of the faithless—of cities fill’d with the foolish; Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish than I, and who more faithless?) Of eyes that vainly crave the light—of the objects mean—of the struggle ever renew’d; Of the poor results of all—of the plodding and sordid crowds I see around me; 5 Of the empty and useless years of the rest—with the rest me intertwined; The question, O me! so sad, recurring—What good amid these, O me, O life? Answer.
That you are here—that life exists, and identity; That the powerful play goes on, and you will contribute a verse.
Words of indescribable beauty.
The Holika dehan at home and the much larger, albeit ceremony less dehan in the neighbourhood. On this day we make fire from dried cow dung, offer it our obeisance and seek blessing from the lord. Also, wheat from the crop just harvested is offered by roasting in the same fire. There are several interesting parts of the ritual but it will take too long to explain them. The best part of Holi still remains the gujiya which is a unique Indian sweet cooked from mawa (a processed form of milk) wrapped in refined flour and fried. It may not sound like much to the uninitiated but it is amazing. Tomorrow is the day when the country will play with colours.
The original was a nice melody by Mohd. Rafi in a lesser seen (or known) movie called 'Hanste Zakhm'. The singer in this one has sung it ever so seductively and the mix is phenomenal. Brownie points to whoever can tell me the singer of this version.
The advertisement follows up right beautifully after their previous one with 'Strange Love' in the background.
